Course overview

Gram-negative infection rates remain strong and are becoming increasingly challenging and resistant to many available antibiotics. These factors combined with targets to reduce healthcare associated gram-negative bloodstream infections increase the importance of increasing awareness and using preventive measures.

This course provides an overview of gram-negative bacteria and the resulting infections and challenges they present in a healthcare setting. The second module contains key guidance, summarised from a range of relevant UK publications, on managing and preventing gram-negative infections.

The course can be completed in multiple sessions on a variety of smart devices.

  • Course content

    Add members of your team, when registering for this course to track their progress.
    Trainees will cover the following modules:

    • An introduction into gram-negative bacteria, associated infections and antibiotic resistance
    • The management and prevention of gram-negative bacteria 

    Each module is accompanied by a multiple choice test to assess the trainee's understanding of the content. When all module tests are completed the trainee will receive a personalised certificate.
