This course consists of five CSJ articles from 2019 that address a range of important issues associated with the reprocessing of flexible endoscopes in modern healthcare organisations.

On completion of this course trainees will:
1. Gain an understanding of the issues around the selection of a disinfectant for the reprocessing of flexible endoscopes.
2. Be aware of the importance and the role of pre-cleaning and the use of enzymatic detergents in the reprocessing of flexible endoscopes.
3. Understand the challenges and opportunities encountered when installing a new washer disinfector.
4. Learn about what constitutes as a Medical Device and why this is significant to the reprocessing of flexible endoscopes.
