Course overview

Today, endoscopic examinations with diagnostic and therapeutic interventions are routine procedures in any endoscopy department and outpatient centres. It has been known for years that endoscopic examinations can lead to infections. Some of the possible reasons for this are insufficiently reprocessed endoscopes and the use of unsterile and insufficiently reprocessed accessories.

To keep the infection risk as low as possible for patients and staff, high demands are made on the reprocessing of flexible endoscopes and their accessories.

This module will help to set standards for the cleaning and reprocessing of endoscopes.
